Cricket Valley Energy Center (CVEC) is a natural gas-fired power plant currently operational on an industrially zoned site off Route 22 in Dover, New York.
The fully-permitted facility currently generates approximately 1,100 megawatt (MW) of electricity, enough to power 1 million homes. The 193-acre property is surrounded by a substantial tree buffer that minimizes visual and noise impacts. The property repurposed an existing energy infrastructure, including electric power lines and a natural gas pipeline. The location was chosen to provide opportunity for economic revitalization, creating jobs and tax revenue for the Town of Dover.
CVEC is an affiliate of Advanced Power Services (NA), a leading energy development company based in Boston, Massachusetts. CVEC and Advanced Power Services (NA) are affiliates of Advanced Power AG, a leading international energy developer of power generation and related infrastructure projects throughout Europe and North America. Advanced Power AG has over 7,000 MW in operation, under construction or under development in the United States and Europe.
