Permitting is a crucial aspect of the development of power facilities like Cricket Valley Energy Center (CVEC). A detailed permitting process begins with the initial proposal, continues through construction, and extends into operation, with renewals and updates required periodically. The process is designed to ensure the facility meets strict state and federal standards, safeguarding the health and well-being of the surrounding community.

CVEC operates under a Title V Air Pollution Control Permit, issued in 2016, which requires periodic reviews and renewals to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. The CVEC team is currently seeking the renewal of the facility’s existing Title V Air Pollution Control Permit from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC).
