Local workers and business owners will benefit from the increased economic activities associated with this $1.58 billion privately-financed facility. A wide range of skills will be required during the three-year construction period, with approximately 1,100 workers employed during peak construction, and annual construction period salaries totaling more than $80 million. When operational, the plant will employ up to 28 highly-skilled permanent employees, with salaries totaling approximately $3.4 million annually.
CVEC has chosen Bechtel as its engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor. Bechtel – a leader in the power industry for more than 60 years – has committed to making local hiring a priority.
